Annual Convention

I would like to personally welcome all of you to the NYCRSC annual convention. This year's convention is located at the Wingate Inn located in Garden City, Long Island. The convention will be from Friday, April 21 thru Sunday, April 23. There is a $35 fee per school plus $10 per person. Registration ends April 1, 2006. All the schools located in the Southern Region are excited and honored to be hosting this year's convention. We have a great lineup of speakers ranging from ex-military officers to candidates running for the office of governor in New York. As speakers become confirmed, we will be sure to keep you up to date.
We are having a special deal for this years’ convention. If you submit your money and credentialing material on or before March 15, 2006 and become fully credentialed, you will receive one FREE ROOM per voting school at the Wingate Inn! Stipulations for the free room require that you show up at the Wingate Inn before Saturday, April 22 at 2:00am, and you submit a complete and accurate room list. If you need to update the room list, you may e-mail Special Liaison Bradley H. Smallberg at tangle1234@aol.com. The attached forms and procedures will describe what materials are needed and the procedure for registering for the convention.
The Garden City Wingate Inn’s website is http://www.wingategc.com/. Please see the website for driving directions. If you choose to fly, the best airport is JFK. After you get off the plane, follow the signs to the Airtrain and take the Airtrain to Jamaica station. The Airtram costs $5 and you pay when you get off. When you get to Jamaica Station, purchase an off-peak Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) ticket to Mineola Station. When you purchase the ticket at the station it cost $3.75. If you buy it on the train it costs $9. So I highly recommend you purchase your ticket at the station. For schedules of trains please visit http://www.mta.info/. If you arrive at Mineola before 11pm you can call the Wingate Inn for a free shuttle, otherwise there is a 24 hour taxi stand that you cannot miss.
In addition to great speakers there is plenty to do around Long Island. First off, we are about 30min train ride from New York City. The hotel's location is walking distance of Roosevelt Field Mall, which is the second largest mall in America. Lastly, everyone attending the convention will see how we in the Southern Region Party. So get excited about this year's convention its going to be one of those times that you will never forget about.
